Working with a mindfulness journal
I have been practicing mindfulness for a while now, hence the name of this blog! However, working with a mindfulness journal had not crossed my mind until Gina Buckney emailed me. They sent me their Daily Mindfulness Journal to review and I was so excited to get a chance to do that. It arrived about a month ago and I immediately started using it morning and evening. A mindfulness journal is rather like a bullet journal, but it is more about how you will stay focused during the day. In the evening, the questions asked a lot about what made the day go well and what did not work out…
Stress and construction
Right now the top half of my home is full of construction workers fixing our roof and replacing the guttering. It is a job that needed doing, but the constant noise and having people around us is really stressful. Stress is something that I am supposed to keep to a minimum but stress and construction go hand in hand. What started out being just replacing the guttering which had gone rotten soon became replacing some of the roof and repointing the upper part of the house. We have someone good doing the work, it is just an older house built in the 1970s and mom has not been able to…
When plans change
When plans change it can easily trigger anxiety and sadness, two things that I find come up a lot in my life. Living with an anxiety disorder I am used to this and I use a lot of self care in order to work through it and get back to how I want to feel. If you have not been following my journey on YouTube and here on the blog, I have moved in with my mom. Me and my husband initially were going to turn the garage into a tiny home, then we were going to get a cabin built in the back garden. However, neither of these ideas…
Working with a marketing consultant
I never thought I would actually be too bothered about branding, it wasn’t something I really understood. I knew a little about working with making pictures so I assumed because of that I could get by on my own. However, working with a marketing consultant for my blog and you tube channel has really opened my eyes. I found Peacock Digital Marketing through an online group for the area where I live. They had posted about starting the business and wanting to help businesses in the area. I loved that and though this is a hobby for me, I wanted to get some help to grow. Kirsty suggested that she…

Trying to be a Trans ally
This post is a collaboration with my friend Artie over at artiecarden.com and don’t forget to check out their You Tube channel as well. Trying to be a trans ally is not easy, it can be scary and leave you feeling overwhelmed with the language and uncertainty of what to say. However, when you put that against how they feel facing the world, it is so worth trying. You might read todays blog post and think it is different to my usual content, but is it really? I often speak about mental health, and after reading the Stonewall trans key stats talking about being an ally is needed more than…
Mindfulness is self care
Inspiration can come from the most unlikely places at times, and today it more or less smacked me round the head! I was staring at my screen, a headache looming, unable to think of what I wanted to say. Then I realised mindfulness is self care, if we realised this maybe we would put more time and effort into learning to use it? I started my mindfulness journey not long before I started this blog in 2016, and to be honest I am still not full time mindful. However, I love finding those totally immersive in the moment moments and how utterly happy they make me. It is those moments…
